Helping practices to be their best.
Better Medical Acquires Five Medical Practices & GP Assist in Hobart Region
Better Medical has recently acquired five high-quality medical practices located in the greater Hobart region, increasing its footprint to nine clinics in Tasmania.
Dr Annette Douglas, owner of Huon Doctors Surgery and Sandy Bay Clinic, and her co-owner Dr John Davis of Brighton Doctors Surgery, Sorell Doctors Surgery, and After Hours Doctors, are excited to join the Better Medical team. Together, Dr Douglas and Dr Davis also operate GP Assist, a Federal Government initiative funded through Primary Health Tasmania, which Better Medical has also acquired.
“Having built five successful and growing practices, John and I started to think about what was next for us, and we agreed that we’d like to pursue other interests, and at some stage, to consider retirement. When we met with Better Medical to find out more about their company, it was quickly evident they shared our values and passion for delivering high-quality patient care in local communities,” said Dr Douglas.
“We know our practices are in safe hands, and that our doctors, staff, and Allied Health professionals will be taken care of – which is very important to Annette and I. Better Medical will continue to support the professional development of our teams, and provide administrative support in many areas, including Finance, HR, and Marketing. It’s also great that Annette and I have the flexibility to continue to practice medicine in our clinics, and that we can choose when we do so,” said Dr Davis.
